As the VP, Head of Advertising and Partnership at Discovery Inc, UK, Ireland and International, Katie is responsible for managing ad sales, partnerships and digital sales for Discovery’s D2C and linear channels. This includes Discovery, Eurosport, TLC, ID, Really, Quest, Quest Red, Animal Planet, Food Network, DMAX & HGTV, as well as our brand-new SVOD service, discovery+.
Katie has overseen a significant change in the 10 years she has been at Discovery. During that time, she has been involved in the launch of Quest, TLC and Quest Red. She was also instrumental in integrating Scripps, which brought Food Network into the portfolio of Discovery’s channels. As part of this acquisition, Discovery struck a deal with UKTV that further expanded the network with Really and HGTV.
Katie was also responsible for the launch of Discovery's first free streaming product, Quest OD, back in 2018. This month, Katie and her team are introducing an ‘Ad-Lite’ offering for discovery+ customers in the UK and Ireland. discovery+ is the first global SVOD service to launch an ‘Ad-Lite’ offering in the UK, this follows the successful launch of the Discovery ‘Ad-Lite’ product in the US, with a further roll-out across EMEA expected this year.
